Job summary

National Highways invites applications for a Construction Assurance Manager to lead on capital schemes in the Yorkshire North East region. The role focuses on delivering time, cost, quality and safety while maintaining strong customer experience.

Based from Wakefield, Darlington or Leeds, the position requires driving on-site coordination, stakeholder engagement and governance, with NEC 4 ECC contract experience preferred. A proactive, collaborative mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or equivalent highways/construction experience.
• Knowledge of DMRB, MCHW, CDM Regulations and Chapter 8.
• IOSH or SMSTS preferred.
• Experience on high-speed trunk road/motorway networks desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assure completion of planned works to agreed standards and escalate concerns to the Construction Manager.
• Ensure works follow CDM, HSE, DMRB, MCHW, and Traffic Signs Manual Chapter 8.
• Provide regular feedback to Project Managers on progress, risks, and design issues.
• Act as liaison between supply chain partners and coordinate delivery programme.
• Maintain liaison with PMs and Commercial teams, sharing Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
