Job summary

Kier Group in Northamptonshire is seeking a Highway Development Management Site Inspector in Brixworth. You will oversee the construction of highways for new developments across North Northamptonshire and West Northamptonshire councils, combining site inspections with stakeholder engagement.

The role requires civil engineering/highways experience, a relevant qualification (HNC/HND or equivalent), knowledge of Section 38/278, and strong communication and workload management skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil engineering, highways, construction or infrastructure.
• Qualified with HNC, HND or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Section 38 and Section 278 agreements.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and workloads.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting developer and contractor works to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications and legal agreements.
• Identifying non-compliant works, agreeing corrective actions and monitoring completion.
• Promoting safe working practices and ensuring traffic management requirements are met.
• Working closely with developers, contractors, designers and technical teams to resolve issues and agree design changes.
• Maintaining accurate inspection records, reports and project documentation.
