We are pleased to offer an opportunity for a Band 7 Highly Specialised Scientist / Physiologist at the Royal London Hospital.In this role, you will be a senior figure in running the day-to-day operations and the delivery of a new intra-operative monitoring service. You will collaborate with our Consultant and physiologist/scientist team to provide service input and support for junior colleagues, ensuring the continuous improvement and development of services.We are looking for an individual who is flexible, proactive, and effective in managing both their own workload and their colleagues. Main duties of the job

The Department of Neurophysiology provides comprehensive and specialist investigative services to both inpatients and outpatients of Barts Health NHS Trust and surrounding hospitals, this includes neonatal, paediatric and adult population groups. Additionally, the department provides a portable investigative servicesat the bedside for critically ill patients outside the Trust. Patients are of all ages, come from a large range of specialties and suffer from a wide variety of medical disorders affecting the central and peripheral nervous systems. Referrals come mainly from Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neonatology, Paediatrics, Intensive Care, General Medicine, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics and Psychiatry. The most frequently encountered disorders include Epilepsy, Head Injury, Infective Disorders of the brain (e.g. Encephalitis), Anoxic Brain Damage, Nerve Entrapment, and Multiple Sclerosis.
