Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd in Newcastle is seeking an experienced HLTA to support Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils. You will assist class teachers, deliver planned activities and help pupils develop confidence and independence.

A recognised HLTA qualification or equivalent is required, with experience in a mainstream primary school across KS1/KS2. Excellent behaviour management and the ability to support learners with varying needs are essential.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream Primary School based in Newcastle, who are looking to appoint a dedicated HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant. The school provides a supportive learning environment where pupils are encouraged to develop their confidence, independence and academic abilities.

The school is looking to take on a motivated HLTA on a long-term basis, starting ASAP. The successful HLTA will work across Key Stage 1 / KS1 and Key Stage 2 / KS2 classes, supporting teaching and learning, delivering planned activities and working alongside class teachers to ensure pupils receive the support they need.

The successful HLTA will have:

A recognised HLTA qualification or equivalent relevant qualification

Experience working within a mainstream Primary School across KS1 and KS2

A strong understanding of the Primary National Curriculum

Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills

The ability to support pupils with varying learning abilities and needs

A positive, adaptable and enthusiastic approach to supporting children's education
