Job summary

Academics are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a school in the Torfaen area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is confident supporting pupils, working alongside teaching staff and taking responsibility for learning activities across the classroom.

You'll play an important role within the school, helping pupils stay engaged with their learning while providing support where it is needed.

Qualifications

• Hold a recognised HLTA qualification.
• Experience working within a school or education setting.
• Ability to lead learning activities and provide effective classroom support.
• Able to adapt communication to suit individual pupil needs.
• DBS Update Service in place or willing to obtain one.
• Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willing to register.
• Two professional references relating to work with children.

The successful candidate will be someone who can build positive relationships with pupils, communicate effectively with staff and adapt to the needs of different learners.

• Hold a recognised HLTA qualification

• Have previous experience working within a school or education setting

• Are confident supporting pupils both independently and as part of a wider team

• Can lead learning activities and provide effective classroom support

• Have a positive, patient and encouraging approach

• Can adapt your communication and support to suit individual pupil needs

• Are reliable, organised and able to use your initiative

• Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service, or are willing to obtain one

• Are registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC), or are willing to register

• Can provide two professional references relating to your work with children

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
