Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a long-term, full-time position in Milton Keynes. You will lead classes, cover lessons, deliver planned activities and provide targeted support to pupils with diverse needs.

The Role

• Leading whole-class learning and covering lessons when required
• Delivering planned lessons, learning activities and interventions
• Providing targeted one-to-one and small-group support
• Supporting pupils with a range of learning, behavioural and additional needs
• Adapting learning activities and resources to meet individual needs
• Supporting teachers with planning, preparation and assessment
• Monitoring pupil engagement and progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
• Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a calm and purposeful learning environment
• Building positive, professional relationships with pupils
• Encouraging confidence, independence and resilience
• Supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral staff and other professionals
• Supporting and sharing good practice with Teaching Assistants and other support staff
• Contributing to the wider life and development of the school

The Ideal Candidate

• Confident leading whole-class learning and small-group activities
• Experienced in supporting children and young people within an educational setting
• Able to manage behaviour effectively and calmly
• Confident adapting learning to meet different abilities and needs
• A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
• Organised, proactive and able to work independently
• Passionate about supporting pupils to achieve their potential
• Able to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
• Committed to inclusive education and safeguarding
• Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a wider school team
• Ideally, you will hold HLTA status or an appropriate Level 4 qualification, although we would also welcome applications from experienced Teaching Assistants who are ready to take the next step in their career.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, behavioural or additional learning needs would be particularly beneficial.
