Job summary

Milk Education is seeking an experienced HLTA to work full-time at a Standish primary school (Standish WN6). The post involves covering lessons across EYFS and KS1 when teachers are absent, providing support and maintaining classroom routines.

You will cover a range of subjects within EYFS and KS1, with a commitment from 08:30 to 15:30, Monday to Friday. The role is long-term, starting September 2026 and potentially becoming permanent for the right candidate.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering lessons across EYFS and KS1 in a UK primary setting.
  • HLTA status, QTS status or Level 6 degree is required.
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with staff and students.
  • Strong behaviour management skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Cover lessons across EYFS and KS1 when teachers are absent.
  • Maintain classroom routines and manage behaviour effectively.
  • Work full-time, 08:30–15:30, Mon–Fri, in Standish.

Job description

Higher Level Teaching Assistant- Standish

Milk Education is looking for an experienced HLTA to work full-time at a primary school in Standish(WN6).

The temporary HLTA role will consist of covering lessons across EYFS and KS1 when the teachers are out doing PPA or need management release time.

In this HLTA role, you will be required to cover a range of subjects within EYFS and KS1, so knowledge and experience covering the EYFS and KS1 curriculum within a UK mainstream primary school setting is essential.

This is a long-term role and will start September 2026- February 2027 and could go from temporary to permanent for the ideal applicant. The HLTA role will be full-time, 08:30am until 15:30pm, Mon to Fri.

Applicants will need to possess:
  • Previous EYFS & KS1 Teaching or HLTA experience
  • HLTA Status, QTS Status or Level 6 Degree
  • The ability to develop positive relationships with staff and students alike
  • Strong behaviour management skills
