Job summary

Milk Education is seeking an experienced HLTA to cover lessons across Year 3 to Year 6 at a primary school in Wigan. The role is full-time from 08:30 to 15:30, Monday to Friday, starting immediately until December 2026.

Ideal candidates will have previous KS2 teaching experience or HLTA status and strong relationship and behaviour management skills. The position offers excellent pay rates and additional support resources.

Qualifications

  • Experience in KS2 settings, particularly in a UK mainstream primary school.
  • Ability to cover a range of subjects in Years 3 to 6.
  • Strong skills in managing student behavior.

Responsibilities

  • Cover lessons in Years 3-6 when teachers need management release time.
  • Maintain a positive classroom environment.
  • Ensure curriculum delivery and student engagement.

KS2 HLTA – September 2026

Milk Education is looking for an experienced HLTA to work full‑time at a primary school in Wigan (WN1).

The HLTA role will consist of covering lessons across Year 3 to Year 6 (KS2) when the teachers are out doing PPA or need management release time. In this HLTA role you will be required to cover a range of subjects within Year 3 to Year 6 (KS2) so knowledge and experience covering the KS2 curriculum within a UK mainstream primary school setting is essential.

This role is starting immediately and will continue until December 2026.

The KS2 HLTA role will be full time 08:30am until 15:30pm, Monday to Friday. This is a long‑term role and could potentially go permanent for the ideal applicant.

Applicants will need to possess:
  • Previous KS2 Teaching or HLTA experience
  • HLTA Status, QTS Status or Level 6 Degree
  • The ability to develop positive relationships with staff and students alike
  • Strong behaviour management skills
