Job summary

St Lawrence Primary School is seeking an HLTA to plan and lead English withdrawal sessions, oversee Learning Support Assistants, and deliver tailored interventions during term time.

You will work with teaching staff to support classroom management, uphold safeguarding policies, and monitor student progress using data. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including English and Maths) or equivalent.
• HLTA status or relevant Level 2/3 qualifications (e.g., NNEB).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Competence with IT tools and ability to analyse and present data.

Working 33.75 hours per week (term time)

As an HLTA, you will:

• Plan and lead small-group English withdrawal sessions.
• Provide guidance to and oversee Learning Support Assistants.
• Deliver tailored learning interventions to meet students' individual needs.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support classroom management and behavior strategies.
• Uphold safeguarding policies and promote student well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting delivery of curriculum-aligned interventions and activities.
• Planning and delivering lessons to individuals, groups, or whole classes as required.
• Monitoring and assessing student progress through data and feedback.
• Reporting concerns, incidents, or safeguarding issues in line with policies.
• Providing line management for Learning Support Assistants.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including English and Maths) or equivalent.
• HLTA status or relevant Level 2/3 qualifications (e.g., NNEB).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Competence with IT tools and ability to analyse and present data.
• Experience working in a similar role within education or SEND environments.
• Proven organisational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
