Job summary

Richard Lee Primary School in Coventry is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Grade 4) to support teaching staff and lead groups during PPA across the primary range. The role emphasizes planning, delivering lessons, and assessing pupil progress, with a focus on safeguarding and inclusive practice.

The post is permanent, part-time, term-time only with teacher training days; hours are scheduled across Mon–Fri, with some variations.

Qualifications

  • Has experience of working with children across the primary age range.
  • Working knowledge of the EYFS Framework and the national curriculum; willingness to develop knowledge further.
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults; ability to lead a class.

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking planning and preparation of lessons for individuals, groups and whole classes.
  • Delivering lessons and learning experiences to individuals, groups and whole classes.
  • Assessing and marking, and reporting on pupil development, progress and attainment.
  • Using specialist skills to support physical and emotional needs of students, including those with SEND.
  • Participating in professional development and supporting other staff.
