Job summary

Horley Infant School is seeking a caring teaching assistant to support learning and development in the infant phase. This fixed-term role is to cover maternity leave, starting September 2026, 26.25 hours per week across 38 weeks per year, with hours 8.40am to 3.10pm.

The ideal candidate will be child-centred, with strong interpersonal skills, able to motivate and inspire pupils, and capable of contributing to the wider life of the school.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the Early Years Framework or KS1 National Curriculum desirable.
  • Experience leading interventions or supporting specific needs desirable.

This position would be perfect for somebody who is child-centred, enjoys working with children under seven, has good interpersonal skills, is an effective team player and is knowledgeable about how to support learning in the infant phase.We would love to hear from people who have an appreciation that everyone has the potential to achieve in their own way.
