Job summary

Millhouse Primary School in Barnsley is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Grade 6) to provide class teaching cover. The role is 19.5 hours per week over 3 days, term time only with 2 INSET days, starting w/c 5 October (or as soon as possible).

The successful candidate will cover PPA and subject release time, support and lead groups and individuals, and contribute to promoting children’s wellbeing and attainment. A caring, committed, hardworking and enthusiastic approach is essential.

Qualifications

• HLTA level qualification preferred or equivalent
• Experience providing class teaching cover and supporting learning outcomes
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children

19.5 hours per week over 3 days + 1 hour break (unpaid) - term time only plus 2 INSET days

Start date: w/c 5 th October (or as soon as possible after this date)

This position is fixed term, for one year until 31 st August 2027.

The Governors are seeking to appoint a HLTA who will provide class teaching cover. We are looking for someone who is caring, committed, hardworking and enthusiastic, who is able to use their own initiative in carrying out a range of duties which support the class teachers in promoting children’s wellbeing and raising their attainment.

The successful candidate will cover classes for teachers’ PPA and subject release time, support and lead groups and individuals. We will be looking for someone who shows a willingness to be involved in training and all aspects of school life.
