About the role

We are seeking a committed and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant with a strong focus in inclusion, who is passionate about supporting pupils with SEND to achieve their full potential. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students across a range of abilities and learning difficulties, and will be confident in planning, delivering and assessing targeted interventions for individuals and small groups. You will bring a strong understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies, differentiation, and inclusive teaching practices, alongside the ability to engage, motivate and inspire learners both inside and outside the classroom.

What we are looking for

You will be a collaborative and proactive professional who can work effectively with teachers, support staff and external professionals to improve pupil outcomes. Strong communication, organisational skills and the ability to use data to inform interventions are essential. We are looking for someone who is adaptable, calm under pressure and committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing, with a genuine dedication to creating a positive, inclusive learning environment. A willingness to contribute to wider academy life, including enrichment activities and ongoing professional development, is also key to success in this role. A HLTA qualification, working towards one or experience as a HLTA is required.

What we offer

Our pledge is to offer a supportive, caring, meaningful place to work and learn. Being an employer of choice is our continued aspiration. We offer a range of benefits to our staff:

  • Access to NSCT Health Cash Plan, covering a range of healthcare cover, benefits, perks and discounts
  • Career pathways and leadership development
  • Continuous professional development and training opportunities
  • Promote manageable workloads and support a healthy work life balance
  • Generous pension scheme
  • Subsidised lunches in our canteen
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Staff referral bonus scheme
  • Free onsite parking

As part of our recruitment process, the successful candidate will be required to undergo safer recruitment checks, including enhanced clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and any other pre-employment checks relevant to their role.

It aims to create a working environment in which all individuals are able to make best use of their skills, free from discrimination or harassment, and in which all decisions are based on merit.
