The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Higher Clerical Officer within Respiratory for the Sleep Apnoea Project, for a 12 month period. In this role you will provide comprehensive Administrative and Clerical support to clinical and non-clinical staff in order to ensure the smooth running of the service. Where appropriate, supervise clerical staff and provide support to line manager.

What we'll need you to bring

  • Experience in an Administrative and Clerical role
  • Educated to Higher Grade level
  • Ability to supervise staff
  • Well developed interpersonal skills in customer care
  • Good organisational and planning skills
  • Understanding of a range of procedures and processes
  • Ability to prioritise work and work on own initiative whilst under pressure
  • Proficient I.T. skills which include a working knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Ensuring confidentiality, diplomacy and discretion are maintained at all times

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

It would be great if you also have

  • NHS Admin & Clerical experience
  • Extensive knowledge of TrakCare, Clinical Portal, PRL Waiting List management
  • PC literate, knowledge of Waiting List Operation, Appointment Booking
  • Time Management Skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised

Contract type

Fixed Term or Secondment for 12 months

Full time

37 hours

Please note this is a fixed term post for 12 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment.

The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in the Respiratory Department within University Hospital Monklands
