The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Higher Clerical Officer within the OPAT Nursing Team. You will provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support to clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure smooth service operations. You may also supervise clerical staff and support the line manager where appropriate.

Requirements
  • Experience in administrative and clerical roles
  • Educated to Higher Grade level
  • Ability to supervise staff
  • Strong interpersonal and customer care skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good organizational and planning skills
  • Understanding of procedures and processes
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently under pressure
  • Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Office
  • Maintain confidentiality, diplomacy, and discretion

Note: A full UK/EU/EEA driving license is required where applicable.

Desirable Skills
  • NHS administrative experience
  • Experience with TrakCare and outpatient management
  • Knowledge of clinical portals and scheduling systems
  • Experience working independently and managing time effectively
Contract Details

Fixed-term for 12 months, full-time (37 hours/week). Applicants must have prior written approval from their line manager for secondment applications.

Location and Working Pattern

Based in the OPAT Nursing Team at University Hospital Monklands. Similar roles may be considered in alternative locations.
