Job summary

Powersystems is hiring an HV Cable Jointer to install, join and energise high‑voltage cable systems across UK projects. The role involves hands-on 11kV, 33kV and above work within renewable energy and electrical infrastructure, with a focus on safety and quality.

You will lead on installations, mentor apprentices and collaborate with engineers to ensure safe, on‑time delivery while maintaining excellent workmanship. A UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• A JIB-approved ECS card and experience of working safely on construction sites.
• Strong hands-on experience in cable preparation, installation, containment, earthing and related HV site works.
• Experience completing cable terminations and joints at 33kV within the electrical power, commercial or industrial sector.
• At least 3 years’ experience as a Jointer, with a sound understanding of site standards and safe systems of work.
• Ability to plan ahead, follow processes and handle multiple tasks under time pressure while maintaining quality.
• Effective communication and team-oriented approach to resolving on-site problems.
• Full UK driving licence, right to work in the UK, and willingness to travel and stay away regularly.

Responsibilities

• Mentor less experienced colleagues and apprentices, upholding high standards of workmanship and tidiness.

What We’re Looking For – Cable Jointing / HV Installation
