Job summary

Powersystems, an employee-owned engineering business, is hiring a Cable Hand – Renewable Energy in Bristol with UK-wide travel. You will join on-site electrical installation teams delivering LV/HV cabling, lighting and power systems, with opportunities for overtime, profit share and benefits.

The role requires a valid JIB/ECS card, a full UK driving licence and prior construction-site experience. You’ll work safely with supervisors and HV crews, supporting high-profile renewable energy projects

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid JIB/ECS card and UK work rights.
• Experience installing on construction sites with commercial/industrial projects.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• In this Cable Hand role, you will work alongside Site Supervisors, Electricians and Jointers to deliver electrical installation work on site.
• Install lighting and power systems, cable trays and ladders, cabling and switchgear.
• Install LV and HV cables using cable rigs, trailers and winches.
• Complete earthing works as needed.
• Assist HV teams with major site installations, fault investigations and breakdown response.
• Follow safe working practices, look after company equipment and represent Powersystems professionally.
• Promote Powersystems' Priority No.1 commitment to Health, Safety and Wellbeing, alongside high standards and continual improvement.

What You'll Bring

• A valid JIB-approved ECS card
• A full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK
• Previous experience working on construction sites
• Experience with commercial and industrial electrical installations
• The ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a team
• Electrical power sector experience would be advantageous
• Clear communication, good attention to detail and a proactive, adaptable attitude
