Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a High Needs SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Chesterfield on a supply basis. You will work closely with staff to support pupils with high needs, providing both educational and pastoral support.

The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils access the curriculum, promoting positive behaviour, and developing confidence and social skills. A Level 2/3 TA qualification is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with high needs SEN.
• Experience with pupils with complex learning or behavioural needs.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support.
• Help pupils access the curriculum and meet learning goals.
• Assist with behaviour management and positive engagement.
• Provide pastoral and practical support.
• Collaborate with teachers and SEN team.
• Support pupils in developing confidence, independence, social skills.
• Follow individual support plans and maintain inclusive environment.
