Job summary

Dunbia is seeking Hides Operatives for its Northern Ireland production facility. You will trim, sort, grade and preserve cattle hides and sheep skins for processing, with related tasks such as chilling, salting and weighing. The role may involve loading materials for despatch and maintaining a clean working environment.

Flexibility to work additional hours to meet demand and a proactive, team-oriented attitude are important. Prior experience in manufacturing is advantageous.

Overview

We require Hides Operatives to assist with production. You will be responsible for ensuring hides and skins are trimmed, sorted, graded and preserved for further processing.

Responsibilities

The role involves ensuring hides and skins are trimmed, sorted, graded and preserved for further processing. This includes various semi-skilled and non-skilled jobs associated with the preservation of cattle hides and sheep skins, e.g. chilling and salting hides and skins, trimming, weighing, and grading. The role will involve occasional loading of lorries/dolavs/boxes ready for despatch. Employees must ensure the factory is kept clean and tidy at all times with the operation of a ‘clean-as-you-go’ policy during production

Qualifications

• Possess excellent communication skills;
• Demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative whilst working as part of a team striving to achieve high levels of customer service;
• Flexible approach to work and be prepared to work additional hours when required to meet customer demand.
• Previous experience within a manufacturing environment would be an advantage.
