Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is recruiting for NY Highways for a HIAB Driver / Electrician Assistant role in North Yorkshire. The position involves driving LGV Class 2 vehicles, operating HIAB, and performing excavation, groundworks, and installation work on street lighting and highway infrastructure.

The role emphasizes teamwork and outdoor work in varied weather. Responsibilities include assisting electricians, managing traffic setups, and recording paperwork while maintaining high safety

Qualifications

• Experience in groundworks, utilities, excavation and highway maintenance.
• LGV Class 2 Driving Licence and CPC qualification.
• HIAB certificate and full UK driving licence.
• Knowledge of safe digging practices and underground utilities.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• NRSWA, CSCS, TM12D qualifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate LGV Class 2 vehicles and HIAB lifting equipment.
• Assist with the installation of street lighting columns and roadside infrastructure.
• Excavate pits and trenches for installations.
• Set up and maintain traffic management.
• Load/unload materials safely and complete paperwork.
• Follow NY Highways health and safety standards.
