Job summary

Newrest is seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 driver to transport catering trolleys and meals to aircraft stands within the London area. You will perform vehicle inspections, ensure security seals, and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced airport logistics setting.

The role requires a valid UK HGV Class 2 licence, CPC, and a Digital Tachograph card. Airline catering/logistics experience is preferred; strong teamwork and communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report issues.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicle and loading areas.
• Ensure vehicle is security checked and sealed before departure with required documents.
• Drive HGV2 trucks to transport catering trolleys, meals, beverages, and equipment.
• Load aircraft as per galley plans following policy.
• Load/unload catering safely and timely.
• Drive onto aircraft as trained, without deviation.
• Minor maintenance such as topping up screen wash and AdBlue.
• Obey airport, DVLA and local laws.

Roles andResponsibilities

1. Performpre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections as standard security and safetyprotocol and report any issues immediately.
2. Maintaincleanliness and hygiene of the vehicle and loading areas.
3. Ensurevehicle is security checked and sealed by an authorised staff member beforedeparture with completed specified documentation.
4. Drive HGV2(Class 2) trucks to transport catering trolleys, meals, beverages, andequipment to aircraft stands or airport terminals.
5. Loadaircraft as per the galley plans and adhering to company policy.
6. Load andunload catering on and off the truck at the unit and aircraft in a safe andtimely manner.
7. Drive on toaircraft as per your training, ensuring you do not deviate from it at anypoint.
8. Minormaintenance of vehicles i.e., top-up screen wash, ad-blue.
9. Alwaysdrive adhering to airport, DVLA and local rules and or law.

EssentialSkills and Requirements

• Valid UKHGV Category C (Class 2) licence.
• Valid CPC(Certificate of Professional Competence).
• DigitalTachograph card.
• Previousexperience in airline catering, logistics, or customer service preferred, butnot essential.
• A teamplayer who can effectively manage conflicting priorities in a fast-pacedenvironment.
• Goodcommunication and interpersonal skills.
