Job summary

Alecto Recruitment Limited is seeking a qualified Workshop HGV Technician in Scunthorpe to step up from automotive to heavy goods vehicle maintenance. You'll work in a modern, supportive workshop on a 4 on / 4 off pattern, servicing trailers and commercial vehicles and performing fault diagnosis.

Starting salary is £40,000+ with higher salaries available after training and progression. NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair is essential, and a full UK driving licence is required for this

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair is essential.
Experience as Automotive Technician, Vehicle Technician, Car Mechanic, or similar.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Willingness to train and transition into HGV sector.

Responsibilities

Routine servicing and maintenance on trailers and commercial vehicles.
Mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis and repair.
Pre-MOT inspections and DVSA-compliant repairs.
Working on braking systems, suspension, lighting, hydraulics, and trailer components.
Using workshop diagnostic equipment and tools safely and effectively.
Completing maintenance records and inspection paperwork accurately.
Supporting workshop operations as part of a strong team.
