Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking an experienced vehicle technician to maintain a fleet of LGV and support vehicles. You will diagnose faults by road testing, visual inspections, and use of computerised diagnostic software to meet MOT and LGV testing standards.

The role requires a Level 3 in vehicle/plant maintenance and a good understanding of DVSA operator licensing standards. NCC offers generous leave, a defined pension and a flexi-leave scheme.

Job description

You will work to achieve the efficient and effective maintenance of the Council's vehicles and plant by preparing all vehicles to M.O.T and LGV testing station standards You must be fully conversant with the maintenance / diagnostics and repair of LGV "O" LICENCE vehicles (7.5t upto 44t). You are to diagnose faults by road testing vehicles, visual inspections, by use of computerised diagnostic software and any other method agreed by industrial standards.

• You must hold a Level 3 or equivalent in subjects relevant to vehicle and plant maintenance and have an understanding of DVSA standards and maintenance requirements with respect to operator licensing.
