Job summary

Kemp Recruitment Ltd is seeking an HGV Technician for a Preston night-shift role on Saturdays to Mondays. The position offers a strong shift premium, a Technician Grade Bonus, and overtime paid at 1.5x.

If you hold a Level 3 qualification in HGV maintenance and enjoy a stable, permanent role with a nationally recognised employer, this is the one. Manufacturer training and progression opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance.
• Proven experience as an HGV Technician.
• Ability to identify worn components in accordance with DVSA Standards.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Full UK driving licence; HGV licence beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnostics and fault finding.
• MOT preparation and inspections.
• Maintaining workshop inventory and cleanliness.
• Completing job cards and service records accurately.
• Working efficiently within a busy workshop team.

Hours: Saturday to Monday, 19:00 - 07:00
Full time, permanent

Earning Potential - Salary:
£25.21 per hour
Plus Technician Grade Bonus on top
Overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate
Realistic OTE: £52,000 - £58,000 (including shift premium and bonus)

Overview

We're looking for an HGV Technician to join a well-established commercial vehicle specialist in Preston on the night shift. Saturday to Monday nights - three shifts, strong shift premium, and a Technician Grade Bonus on top. If you're Level 3 qualified and ready for a weekend nights role, this is the one.

Key Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles
• Diagnostics and fault finding
• MOT preparation and inspections
• Maintaining workshop inventory and cleanliness
• Completing job cards and service records accurately
• Working efficiently within a busy workshop team

What You'll Need

• Level 3 qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI) in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance (essential)
• Proven experience as an HGV Technician
• Ability to identify worn and faulty components in accordance with DVSA Standards
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Full, current UK driving licence - HGV licence beneficial but not essential
