Job summary

Consult2Recruit is recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician in Doncaster to join a leading vehicle logistics operation. This night-shift role involves servicing, diagnosing faults, and maintaining roadworthiness of commercial vehicles.

You will work 18:00–06:30, four nights per week, with opportunities to progress within a large automotive service environment. Weekly pay and ongoing full-time work are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an HGV/LGV Technician
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
• Experience diagnosing and repairing HGVs or commercial vehicles
• Good understanding of vehicle safety and roadworthiness

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance
• Prepare for MOT and carry out related repairs
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults
• Maintain high standards of roadworthiness and records
• Work safely following procedures and regulations
• Support the workshop and operations team
• Respond to defects and breakdown maintenance when required

Pay: £22.50 – £24.00 per hour

Shift: Nights

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading vehicle logistics and automotive services company for an experienced HGV Technician to join their operation in Doncaster.

Our client operates within the automotive and vehicle logistics sector, providing a range of services to major vehicle manufacturers, dealerships and automotive businesses.

Due to continued demand, they are looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join their night-shift maintenance team.

The Role

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles
• Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults
• Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance
• Carrying out MOT preparation and associated repairs where required
• Using diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults
• Ensuring vehicles are maintained to a high standard and remain roadworthy
• Completing maintenance records and relevant documentation
• Working safely and in line with company procedures and industry regulations
• Supporting the wider workshop and operations team
• Responding to vehicle defects and breakdown-related maintenance when required

Shift Patterns & Pay

4 Nights Per Week

18:00 – 06:30

Monday – Friday Nights

18:00 – 03:00

About You

• Previous experience as an HGV / LGV Technician
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
• Experience diagnosing and repairing HGVs or commercial vehicles
• Good understanding of vehicle safety and roadworthiness
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A professional and reliable approach
• Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent are desirable
