Job summary

Volvo Trucks in the United Kingdom is seeking a skilled HGV technician to join our workshop. You will perform MOT inspections, carry out repairs to engines, gearboxes, brakes, and suspension systems in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires experience with HGV maintenance, fault diagnosis, and adherence to Volvo procedures. Opportunities include roadside support and mentoring trainees, with a strong team culture and commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Previous experience working on HGVs or have completed an apprenticeship in the HGV industry.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out regular MOT service inspections on a wide range of trucks and performing repairs to engines, gearboxes, brakes, and suspension systems.
• Carry out repairs to a high standard according to Volvo procedures, safely and responsibly.
• Assist in the fault diagnosis process and service customer vehicles and complete service sheets.
• Road test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV license).
• Assist with roadside breakdowns and manage paperwork related to jobs.
• Keep workshop facilities, equipment, and tools clean and well maintained and help develop trainees and apprentices.

Saturday Shift is on a Rota 7am – Noon**1 shift every 4 weeks ***

You will have:

• A Level 3 NVQor equivalent inHeavy Vehicle Maintenance
• Previous experience working on HGV’s or have you completed anapprenticeshipin the HGV industry

What you'll do:

• Our Technicians are responsible carrying out regular MOT service inspections on a wide range of manufacturers’ trucks. Fault finding, carrying out repairs on engines, gearboxes brakes, suspension systems etc.
• Carry out repairs to a high standard according to Volvo procedures, safely and responsibly
• Assist in the fault diagnosis process
• Service Customer Vehicles and complete service sheets.
• Road test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV license)
• Assist with roadside breakdowns.
• Process all relevant paperwork relating to jobs accurately
• Ensure all vehicle defects are reported
• Keep all workshop facilities, equipment, and tools clean, tidy and well maintained
• Help us in supporting the development of trainees and apprentices
