Job summary

Volvo Group in Aberdeen (Volvo Trucks) is seeking a qualified HGV Technician for a dayshift with occasional backshift to cover holidays. The role offers a competitive salary with overtime, a £1000 signing bonus, healthcare, life insurance, and a strong pension and holiday entitlement.

Training opportunities include a Light to Heavy Conversion Course. The successful candidate will inspect and repair a wide range of trucks, diagnose faults, and support trainees.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Previous experience working on HGVs or an apprenticeship in the HGV industry.
• We will also consider Light Vehicle Mechanics taking part in the conversion course.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out regular MOT service inspections on a wide range of trucks; fault finding and repairs to engines, gearboxes, brakes, suspension systems.
• Carry out repairs to a high standard according to Volvo procedures, safely and responsibly.
• Assist in the fault diagnosis process.
• Service customer vehicles and complete service sheets.
• Road test vehicles if you hold an HGV license.
• Assist with roadside breakdowns.
• Process all relevant paperwork relating to jobs accurately.
• Ensure all vehicle defects are reported.
• Keep workshop facilities, equipment, and tools clean and maintained.
• Support the development of trainees and apprentices.

Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday (7.30am - 4.00pm) and Friday (7.30am - 3pm)

What you’ll have:

• A Level 3 NVQor equivalent inHeavy Vehicle Maintenance
• Previous experience working on HGV’s or have you completed anapprenticeshipin the HGV industry
• We will also consider Light Vehicle Mechanics looking to take part in our fantastic conversion course

What you will do:
