Job summary

AutoSkills (United Kingdom) in Wellington is seeking a skilled HGV Technician for a permanent, full-time role in a busy workshop. The position offers a consistent Monday-to-Friday pattern and a strong benefits package, with 45 hours per week and an unpaid lunch break.

You will service, repair and diagnose heavy vehicles, prepare for MOTs, and maintain accurate service records. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, MOT prep experience and the ability to work independently within a team are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent in Motor Vehicle / Heavy Vehicle Repair.
• MOT preparation experience is required.
• Good knowledge of mechanical systems and experience with hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; reliability and safety-conscious.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs.
• Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical faults.
• Carrying out general workshop repairs and maintenance.
• Preparing vehicles for MOT testing.
• Completing service and repair documentation accurately.
• Keeping electronic and paper-based records up to date.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
