Job summary

AutoSkills (United Kingdom) is recruiting an experienced HGV Service Technician to join a busy commercial vehicle workshop in England. The role focuses on routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance to keep HGVs safe and on the road.

You will carry out servicing, safety checks, identify defects, document work with job cards, and work to manufacturer standards while minimizing downtime. A Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance qualification and a full UK driving licence are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working on HGVs or commercial vehicles.
• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• Experience carrying out servicing and routine maintenance.
• Good understanding of vehicle safety and inspection standards.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and scheduled maintenance on HGVs.
• Complete vehicle safety checks and inspections.
• Carry out basic maintenance and identify any defects.
• Report any additional repair work required.
• Complete job cards and service documentation accurately.
• Work efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime.

Job description

Hours: Monday to Friday 40hrs per week + 1 in 3 Saturday mornings

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Service Technician to join a busy commercial vehicle workshop.

This role will focus primarily on carrying out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on a range of HGVs, helping to ensure vehicles are maintained to the highest standards and kept safely on the road.

The Role:

• Carry out routine servicing and scheduled maintenance on HGVs
• Complete vehicle safety checks and inspections
• Carry out basic maintenance and identify any defects
• Report any additional repair work required
• Complete job cards and service documentation accurately
• Work efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime
• Ensure all work is completed in line with company and manufacturer standards

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience working on HGVs or commercial vehicles for 5 years +
• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent preferred
• Experience carrying out servicing and routine maintenance
• A good understanding of vehicle safety and inspection standards
• Full UK Driving Licence
• A reliable and organised approach to work
