Job summary

Stafforce Ports is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our busy commercial vehicle workshop. You will service, maintain, diagnose and repair HGVs and trailers to keep them safe, compliant and roadworthy.

The role offers £20.50 per hour with a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern (7:00am–7:00pm). Applicants should hold a Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair and have strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair is required.
• Experience as an HGV Technician/Mechanic is essential.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills are needed.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs and safety inspections.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing.
• Complete maintenance records and job documentation.

HGV Technician

We are recruiting an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy commercial vehicle workshop. You'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing HGVs and trailers, ensuring all vehicles remain safe, compliant, and roadworthy.

Key Duties:

• Carry out servicing, repairs, and safety inspections.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing.
• Complete maintenance records and job documentation.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping.

Requirements:

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
• Previous HGV Technician/Mechanic experience.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

• HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence.
• Hydraulic, welding, or fabrication experience.
• Experience using diagnostic software.
