Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd is seeking an experienced HGV Technician for a reputable Commercial Vehicle Main Dealer in Tamworth. The role covers servicing, diagnosing, and repairing heavy vehicles to stringent standards, with emphasis on quality and DVSA compliance.

This is a permanent position offering 45-hour weeks on rotating shifts, 30 days holiday, a pension scheme, and ongoing manufacturer training with clear progression opportunities within the dealership.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Servicing and scheduled maintenance of Heavy Goods Vehicles.
  • Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment.
  • Repairing and replacing vehicle components as required.
  • Ensuring work is completed to manufacturer and DVSA compliance standards.
  • Maintaining accurate service and repair records.
  • Supporting roadside breakdown assistance on a rota basis.
  • Working efficiently independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Our client, a reputable Commercial Vehicle Main Dealer in Tamworth, is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join their dynamic workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of Heavy Goods Vehicles, ensuring all work is completed to manufacturer and industry standards.

Duties:

Requirements:
  • Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician, or similar role
  • NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent qualification
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment
  • HGV licence is advantageous but not essential
  • Experience in franchised commercial vehicle environments is beneficial
