Job summary

A leading commercial vehicle dealership in Birmingham is seeking an experienced HGV Technician for night shifts. You will service, repair and inspect fleet vehicles, ensuring compliance with DVSA standards and driving customer satisfaction. Ideal candidates have NVQ3/City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, at least 2 years of HGV experience, and strong diagnostic skills. A valid HGV licence is desirable.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience preferred.
  • Previous experience working on HGVs and trailers.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • HGV Class 1 or 2 licence is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
  • Complete vehicle inspections and prepare vehicles for MOT testing.
  • Ensure all work complies with manufacturer and DVSA standards.
  • Accurately complete job cards and service documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.
  • Work efficiently and independently during night shifts.
  • Provide excellent customer service and technical support as required.
