Job summary

Trafford Park is seeking an experienced HGV Technician on a night shift to join an established team of technicians and fitters. You will perform inspections, carry out repairs, and prepare vehicles for MOT alongside fault finding and routine servicing.

The role requires full industry qualifications with an apprenticeship and knowledge of truck & trailer maintenance; a commercial license is advantageous but not essential. 4 on/4 off, 6pm–6am.

Qualifications

• Hold full industry qualifications and have served a recognised apprenticeship.
• Detailed knowledge of Truck & Trailer Maintenance.
• A commercial licence would be an advantage but isn’t essential.
• Knowledge of Hydraulic and Electrical systems, maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

• Carry out thorough vehicle inspections in line with O licence requirements.
• Carry out repairs identified during inspections.
• General servicing and MOT preparation.
• Fault finding and diagnostics.
• Update all required paperwork/databases.

Job Description

My client, a well-established Truck & Trailer maintenance business, is actively seeking to employ an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter on a night shift. Working in an established team of HGV Technicians / Mechanics / Fitters, you will be required to undertake the following:

• Carry out thorough vehicle inspections in line with the 'O' licence requirements
• Carry out any repairs required that have been highlighted on the initial inspection
• General Servicing and MOT preparation
• Fault finding & diagnostics
• Updating all required paperwork / databases

Candidate Attributes

The successful HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter will have the following attributes:

• Hold full industry qualifications and have served a recognised apprenticeship
• Have detailed knowledge and understanding of Truck & Trailer Maintenance
• A commercial licence would be a distinct advantage but isn't essential
• Knowledge of Hydraulic and Electrical systems, maintenance, and repair
