Job description

HGV Technician

Depot Location: Stockport

Working Hours: 4 on 4 off night shift 6pm to 6am

Contract Type: Full time / Permanent role

Financial Package: £50,000 + Overtime OTE = £55,000 and more


My client, a well-established Truck & Trailer maintenance business, is actively seeking to employ an HGV Technician on a night shift.

Working in an established team of HGV Technicians, you will be required to undertake the following:

  1. Oversee a team of technicians and delegate the workload on each shift.
  2. Carry out thorough vehicle inspections in line with the 'O' licence requirements.
  3. Carry out any repairs required that have been highlighted on the initial inspection.
  4. General servicing and MOT preparation.
  5. Fault finding & diagnostics.
  6. Updating all required paperwork/databases.

The successful HGV Technician will have the following attributes:
  1. Hold full industry qualifications and have served a recognised apprenticeship.
  2. Have detailed knowledge and understanding of Truck & Trailer Maintenance.
  3. A commercial licence would be a distinct advantage but isn't essential.
  4. Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems, maintenance, and repair.
