Job summary

Veolia in Rochester is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to repair and maintain the company fleet and third‑party vehicles. You will diagnose issues, perform hydraulic, electric and pneumatic repairs, and support roadside fixes with training provided.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Mechanical Fitter/HGV Technician or similar
• Health and safety awareness
• Own comprehensive tool kit (diagnostic equipment provided by Veolia)
• HGV driving licence preferred but not essential

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain the Veolia fleet and 3rd party vehicles to manufacturer and industry standards
• Run diagnostics on vehicles with a range of equipment
• Carry out hydraulic, electric and pneumatic diagnostics and repairs
• Complete paperwork and timesheets accurately
• Carry out HGV MOT inspections and preparations (IRTEC licence training available)
• Carry out roadside repairs as required with training provided

HGV Technician

• Salary: Up to £48,202 per annum
• + £0.50p/h HGV licence bonus
• x1.25 overtime rate
• x2 Sundays rate
• x2 Bank Holiday working plus Veolia benefits. Also the following allowance
• *Sign-on and retention bonus of £3,000*
• Hours: 40 hours per week -Monday-Friday
• Location: Rochester

What will you be doing?

• Repair and maintain the Veolia Fleet, 3rd party vehicles and plant in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards.
• Run diagnostics on vehicles using a range of equipment.
• Hydraulic, electrics, pneumatics diagnostics and repairs.
• Other general work as required by the Workshop Management Team.
• Work within Health & Safety regulations and be responsible for your safety and those around you.
• Ensure that all necessary paperwork, and time sheets are completed accurately.
• Carry out HGV MOT inspections and preparations. (IRTEC Licence preferred however we can provide training)
• Complete roadside repairs when necessary (Training to be provide)

What we're looking for;

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter/HGV Technician ideally with an NVQ Level 3 Vehicle Qualification.
• Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements
• Hold a HGV driving licence (Preferred but not essential).
• Supply your own comprehensive tool kit. (diagnostic equipment and specialised tools provided by Veolia)
