Job summary

Veolia Environmental Services (Uk) Plc in Croydon is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter/HGV Technician to repair and maintain our fleet and third-party vehicles. You will diagnose issues, perform hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic work, and ensure safety and compliance across the workshop.

The role offers 40 hours per week on night shifts with enhanced pay and a sign-on/retention bonus. Training and upskilling are provided to help you grow within Veolia and support your career development in

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Vehicle Qualification or equivalent.
• Experience as Mechanical Fitter/HGV Technician.
• Hold a HGV driving licence (preferred but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain the Veolia Fleet, 3rd party vehicles and plant.
• Run diagnostics on vehicles using a range of equipment.
• Carry out HGV MOT inspections and roadside repairs when required.

Job description

What will you be doing?

• Repair and maintain the Veolia Fleet, 3rd party vehicles and plant in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards.
• Run diagnostics on vehicles using a range of equipment.
• Hydraulic, electrics, pneumatics diagnostics and repairs.
• Other general work as required by the Workshop Management Team.
• Work within Health & Safety regulations and be responsible for your safety and those around you.
• Ensure that all necessary paperwork, and time sheets are completed accurately.
• Carry out HGV MOT inspections and preparations. (IRTEC Licence preferred however we can provide training)
• Complete roadside repairs when necessary (Training to be provide).

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter/HGV Technician ideally with an NVQ Level 3 Vehicle Qualification.
• Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Hold a HGV driving licence (Preferred but not essential).
• Supply your own comprehensive tool kit. (diagnostic equipment and specialised tools provided by Veolia).

If you are a skilled Technician we'd still love to hear from you. We can provide upskilling and develop you further once you've started with us.

Salary

Up to £50,299.00 per annum + £720 Per Month night shift allowance plus Veolia benefits x1.5 overtime rate x2 Sundays rate x2 Bank Holiday working plus Veolia benefits. Also the following allowance Sign-on and retention bonus of £3,000

40 hours per week - Monday-Thursday Night Shift 8pm - 6:30am 30 mins lunch
