SER Limited in Inverness is seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic to join our workshop team. You will work on a broad range of tasks from routine servicing to diagnostics, engine and gearbox repairs, and MOT preparation.

We offer a salary around 40k, 32 days holiday including bank holidays, a 40-hour contract, overtime at time and a half, and life insurance. Applicants should have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and a full UK driving licence.

Formación

• Experience as an HGV/Commercial Vehicle Mechanic.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Full UK driving licence; HGV licence advantageous but not essential.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and safety inspections on HGVs.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults.
• Undertake engine repairs, gearbox work, and driveline repairs.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure compliance with DVSA standards.
• Complete all job cards and workshop documentation accurately.
• Work to manufacturer guidelines and workshop health & safety standards.
• Support junior technicians where required.

Overview

We are a well-established commercial vehicle dealership and service centre seeking experienced HGV Mechanics to join their workshop team. The role covers a broad range of work, from routine servicing and inspections through to advanced diagnostics, engine repairs, and MOT preparation.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and safety inspections on HGVs
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults
• Undertake engine repairs, gearbox work, and driveline repairs
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure compliance with DVSA standards
• Complete all job cards and workshop documentation accurately
• Work to manufacturer guidelines and workshop health & safety standards
• Support junior technicians where required

Requirements

• Previous experience as an HGV / Commercial Vehicle Mechanic
• Relevant qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent preferred)
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Full UK driving licence (HGV licence advantageous but not essential)
