Job summary

Hector Francis Limited in Ellington is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our fleet on a permanent, full-time basis. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles to keep the operation safe and reliable, working with a modern fleet and a 4-on-4-off shift pattern.

Qualifications

• Experienced HGV/LGV Technician with strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
• Previous experience on Scania trucks is highly desirable.
• Willingness to perform preventative maintenance and servicing.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults across the HGV fleet.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and servicing.
• Complete repairs and replace components as required.
• Conduct regular inspections and safety checks.
• Maintain vehicles in line with company and legislative requirements.
• Support fleet modifications and maintenance of ancillary equipment.
• Work closely with the team to minimise downtime.
• Ensure work is completed safely and to a high standard.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established operation in Ellington, working on a modern fleet in a permanent position.

• £59,000-£66,000 per year, depending on experience
• £24-£28 per hour on Days
• £27-£31 per hour on Nights
• Overtime paid at 1.5x
• 1.5x overtime rate for Saturdays

The Role

As an HGV Technician, you'll keep the fleet safe, reliable, and operating at its best.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults across the HGV fleet
• Carrying out preventative maintenance and servicing
• Completing repairs and replacing components when required
• Carrying out regular inspections and safety checks
• Maintaining vehicles in line with company and legislative requirements
• Supporting modifications and maintenance of fleet vehicles and ancillary equipment
• Working closely with the wider team to minimise vehicle downtime
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in a safe manner

What we're looking for

We're looking for an experienced HGV Technician with:

• Previous experience working as an HGV / LGV Technician
• Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills
• Experience working on Scania trucks is particularly desirable
