Job summary

Autoskills-Uk is recruiting for an HGV Technician to join a busy workshop in Dagenham for a 4 on/4 off night shift. The role involves servicing, diagnosing faults, and repairs to a fleet of HGVs and trailers, with ongoing training and development on offer.

You will inspect vehicles, prepare for MOT, perform welding when needed, and maintain accurate records. NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance is preferred alongside strong fault-finding skills and good teamwork.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
• Previous experience as an HGV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Diagnostic qualifications desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-focused approach.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, inspections, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and electronic faults.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections.
• Perform welding, fabrication and metalwork when required.
• Order parts and assist with stores management.
• Accurately complete job cards and maintenance records.
• Support Apprentice Technicians and work collaboratively within the workshop.
• Maintain workshop equipment to a high standard.

Salary: £55,903 per annum (£25.59 per hour) + Overtime

Hours: 4 on, 4 off | Night Shift | 6:00pm - 6:00am
