Job summary

Tru Talent in Grays is actively recruiting an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy workshop. You’ll service, diagnose, and repair heavy vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring reliability and road safety for customer fleets.

Working on a wide range of HGVs and commercial vehicles, you will perform servicing, diagnostics, and repairs, with access to modern diagnostic equipment and ongoing manufacturer training. A strong commitment to quality workmanship is essential.

Qualifications

• Essential: Recognised Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance qualification or equivalent.
• Essential: Previous experience as an HGV Technician/Mechanic/Truck Technician.
• Essential: Servicing, diagnostics, repairs, MOT preparation experience.
• Essential: Own tool kit.
• Essential: Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Essential: Full UK driving licence.
• Essential: Commitment to delivering high quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
• Complete MOT preparation and inspection work.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
• Repair and replace vehicle components in line with manufacturer and DVSA standards.
• Accurately complete job cards and workshop documentation.
• Work efficiently to maximise vehicle uptime.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety within the workshop.

• Experience carrying out servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and MOT preparation
• Own tool kit
• Strong diagnostic and fault finding skills
• Ability to work effectively in a busy workshop
• Full UK driving licence
• Commitment to delivering high quality workmanship

Desirable

• IRTEC accreditation
• HGV or PSV licence
• Manufacturer or dealership experience
