Job summary

Tru talent is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our busy, modern workshop in Maidstone. You will service, diagnose, and repair a range of heavy vehicles, ensuring high quality workmanship and safety standards.

The role offers an earning potential up to £51,000 per year, 45-hour weeks, 45-hour shifts (early & late), and progression through manufacturer training. Join a professional team with excellent career prospects.

Qualifications

• Recognised Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance qualification or equivalent.
• Experience as HGV Technician/Mechanic/ Heavy Vehicle Technician.
• Experience carrying out servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and MOT preparation.
• Own tool kit.
• Strong diagnostic and fault finding skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Commitment to delivering high quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Prepare and inspect for MOT where required.
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
• Repair and replace vehicle components per manufacturer/DVSA standards.
• Accurately complete job cards and workshop documentation.
• Work efficiently to maximise vehicle uptime.
• Maintain high health and safety standards in the workshop.

Skills and Experience

Essential

• Recognised Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance qualification or equivalent
• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician, Heavy Vehicle Technician, or Truck Technician
• Experience carrying out servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and MOT preparation
• Own tool kit
• Strong diagnostic and fault finding skills
• Ability to work effectively in a busy workshop
• Full UK driving licence
• Commitment to delivering high quality workmanship

Desirable

• IRTEC accreditation
• HGV or PSV licence
• Manufacturer or dealership experience
