Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join a Gloucester workshop. The role requires a Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair and prior HGV or commercial vehicle experience.

A full UK driving licence is preferred but not essential, with a typical 42.5 hour week and overtime paid at 1.25x. Salary ranges from £17.00 to £18.33 per hour, with higher rates possible based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician or Heavy Vehicle Technician.
• Right to work in the UK and valid driving licence requirements as stated in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and carry out preventative maintenance inspections.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and rectify defects.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults.
• Complete repairs to required workshop standards and maintain accurate job cards.

Job description

HGV Technician - Gloucester

We are recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician, Commercial Vehicle Technician, Heavy Vehicle Technician or HGV Mechanic to join an established workshop in Gloucester. Applicants must hold a Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent), have previous HGV or commercial vehicle experience and have the right to work in the UK. A Full UK Driving Licence and Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence are preferred but not essential.

Location: Gloucester

Salary: £17.00 - £18.33 per hour, with higher rates available subject to experience and qualifications

Hours: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week, approximately 8:00am-5:00pm - Can be flexible

Overtime: Paid at 1.25x basic rate
