Qualifications

• Hold a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Proven experience working on HGVs or completed an apprenticeship in heavy vehicle maintenance.
• Strong diagnostic skills, including experience with electrical systems and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team within a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to cover various shifts (early, late, and rotating shifts).
• Enthusiastic, committed, and focused on delivering high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities

• Conduct servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards.
• Diagnose vehicle faults using advanced diagnostic equipment and implement effective repairs.
• Perform safety inspections, MOT preparations, and routine checks to ensure fleet compliance.
• Support training and mentorship of apprentices and junior technicians.
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and quality regulations.
• Assist in developing and implementing preventative maintenance programmes to optimise vehicle uptime.

Duties of a HGV Technician:
