Job summary

Elise Search is recruiting for a market-leading national organisation to join as a mobile HGV technician in the Coventry area. You will maintain fleets and trailers on a field basis, with a company van provided and earnings potential of £60-70k+ p.a. Basic salary £44k‑£46.5k, overtime paid at time and a half.

This role involves regular site visits, scheduled work via a mobile tablet, and parts stock management. Full UK driving licence required and induction provided.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified HGV technician or mechanic with NVQ level 3, IMI apprenticeship, City and Guilds level 2, or equivalent qualifications or experience.
• Experience on a range of HGVs and trailers.
• Full UK manual driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair customer fleets of HGVs and trailers.
• Attend customer sites regularly and deliver high standard of customer service.
• Complete pre-loaded jobs on a mobile tablet; predominantly scheduled work.
• Manage van stock and order replacements to ensure common parts are available.
• Day shifts, Monday to Friday.

Job description

This market-leading national organisation is recruiting for a mobile HGV technician to work day shifts in the Coventry area. You will be working on a field basis - paid from the time you leave home each day until the time you return - across a small number of customer sites maintaining their HGVs and trailers. A company van is provided alongside realistic earning potential of £60-70k+ p.a.

The role:

• Service, maintain and repair customer fleets of HGVs and trailers.
• Build strong relationships with your customers whilst attending their sites regularly, always delivering a high standard of customer service.
• Complete the jobs that have been pre-loaded to your mobile tablet each day for you. This is mostly scheduled work across regular customers - no breakdown/roadside work at all.
• Manage the supply of parts stocked in your van, ordering replacement stock through the company's system as necessary to ensure common parts are readily available.
• Working day shifts, Monday to Friday
• Basic salary is between £44-46.5k depending on experience and qualifications, overtime is voluntary, paid at time and a half, and readily available - many of their technicians earn £70k and more pa.

The mobile HGV technician should:

• Be a fully qualified HGV technician or mechanic, with NVQ level 3, IMI apprenticeship, City and Guilds level 2, or equivalent qualifications or experience.
• Have good experience of working as a mechanic on a range of HGVs and trailers.
• Previous experience of working as a mobile HGV technician or mobile mechanic is not essential, the company offer a good induction programme and support on learning their systems and procedures.
• Have a full UK manual driving licence.
