Job summary

Elise Search is seeking a mobile HGV technician to service and repair fleets across Coventry-area customer sites. You will work on a field basis with a company van and tablet-based job load, focusing on scheduled maintenance rather than breakdowns.

The role emphasizes strong customer relationships, precise fault diagnosis, and reliable on-site service. Basic pay ranges from £44k to £46.5k with overtime at time-and-a-half; many technicians earn £70k+ with the potential for higher earnings.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified HGV technician or mechanic with NVQ Level 3, IMI apprenticeship, City & Guilds Level 2, or equivalent.
• Good experience working on a range of HGVs and trailers.
• Full UK manual driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair customer fleets of HGVs and trailers.
• Build strong relationships with customers and attend sites regularly while delivering high standards of service.
• Complete pre-loaded jobs on your mobile tablet; mainly scheduled work for regular customers.
• Manage van stock and order parts to ensure common items are available.

Job description

This market-leading national organisation is recruiting for a mobile HGV technician to work day shifts in the Coventry area. You will be working on a field basis - paid from the time you leave home each day until the time you return - across a small number of customer sites maintaining their HGVs and trailers. A company van is provided alongside realistic earning potential of £60-70k+ p.a.

The role:

• Service, maintain and repair customer fleets of HGVs and trailers.
• Build strong relationships with your customers whilst attending their sites regularly, always delivering a high standard of customer service.
• Complete the jobs that have been pre-loaded to your mobile tablet each day for you. This is mostly scheduled work across regular customers no breakdown/roadside work at all.
• Manage the supply of parts stocked in your van, ordering replacement stock through the company's system as necessary to ensure common parts are readily available.
• Working day shifts, Monday to Friday
• Basic salary is between £44-46.5k depending on experience and qualifications, overtime is voluntary, paid at time and a half, and readily available many of their technicians earn £70k and more pa.

The mobile HGV technician should:

• Be a fully qualified HGV technician or mechanic, with NVQ level 3, IMI apprenticeship, City and Guilds level 2, or equivalent qualifications or experience.
• Have good experience of working as a mechanic on a range of HGVs and trailers.
• Previous experience of working as a mobile HGV technician or mobile mechanic is not essential, the company offer a good induction programme and support on learning their systems and procedures.
• Have a full UK manual driving licence.
