Job summary

Veolia is seeking a supervisor-level transport support role based in Merseyside, primarily at Bidston Recycling Centre. The position involves supporting the transport supervisor, deploying vehicles efficiently, and maintaining high-quality service with internal and external stakeholders.

You will also provide IT support to the team, assess driver performance, and complete driving assessments. The role requires relevant licences and safety certifications, with opportunities for professional

Qualifications

• Similar operational supervisory experience.
• IOSH Managing Safely certification.
• Level 3 Team Leadership or equivalent.
• HGV Class 2 Licence (Class 1 desirable).
• Up-to-date CPC and Digi/Tachograph card.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the transport supervisor in allocating vehicles and drivers.
• Strategically deploy vehicles to maximise contract efficiency.
• Collaborate with colleagues, customers and third parties for outstanding service.
• Provide hands-on IT support to the team and drive continuous improvement.
• Complete driving assessments.
• Coordinate breakdown and recovery services.
• Drive and operate rigid vehicles and optional articulated vehicles for waste transport.
• Maintain paper and digital records of work activity.

£41,220.98 plus performance bonus. OTE £47,837.33 (pay award pending)

Hours:

4 on 2 off shift pattern, 07:45 - 17:30 (Winter) / 18:30 (select days in Summer)

Location:

Merseyside - primarily based at Bidston Recycling Centre, CH41 1EB

What will you be doing?

• Provide support to the transport supervisor in the allocation of vehicles and drivers through planning and absence controls
• Control operations by strategically deploying vehicles to maximise efficiency across the contract
• Collaborate with colleagues, internal and external customers, and third parties to ensure outstanding customer service
• Provide hands-on IT support to your team; and drive continuous improvement by assessing driver performance and identifying learning opportunities
• Complete driving assessments
• Coordinate breakdown and recovery services
• Drive and operate rigid and when required articulated vehicles (subject to appropriate licence category) to transport waste and recycling materials
• Complete paper and digital records of work activity

What are we looking for?

• HGV Class 2 Licence - (Class 1 Licence desirable)
• Up to date CPC and Digi / Tachograph card
