Job summary

Veolia is seeking a HGV Driver in London, offering 40 hours per week at £19.50 per hour with additional overtime on Saturdays and Sundays. Location is Southwark, SE15. The role includes training and a range of employee benefits.

You will maintain public areas, handle paperwork, and ensure safety procedures. Essential qualifications: Class 2 licence, CPC/DIGI card, team communication. Desirable local knowledge and waste transport experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to work well as part of a team with clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean public areas including cleansing of streets, channels, footpaths, alleys, subways, under and around street furniture using equipment supplied.
• Perform duties efficiently to maximise productivity.
• Accurately complete forms/paperwork or electronic tablet allocated work.
• Comply with site conditions and Health & Safety procedures, wearing Veolia PPE.
• Work as part of a team or independently.
• Report locations of fly tipping, graffiti, and damaged/missing litter bins.
• Ensure vehicle cab is clean and ready at end of shift.
• Report any accidents to the manager and complete reports before leaving.
• Undergo full training and work mainly outside in all weathers.

Salary: £19.50 per hour, plus Veolia benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week- Hours are 8 hours plus a 30 minute unpaid break

Overtime available: Saturdays paid at time and a half, Sundays paid at double time

What you'll be doing

• Maintain and clean public areas including cleansing of streets, channels, footpaths, alleys, subways, under and around street furniture using equipment supplied.

• To accurately complete appropriate forms/paperwork or electronic tablet allocated work.
• Comply with any site conditions ensuring Health & Safety procedures are followed and appropriate Veolia PPE is worn at all times.
• To work as part of a team or on your own.
• Report locations of any fly tipping, graffiti, fly posting as well as damaged/missing litter bins.
• Drivers and side hands are responsible for ensuring that at the end of the shift the vehicle cab is left clear of all litter, uniform and personal effects.
• Report any accidents that occur during your shift to the manager and all accident reports are completed before you leave work.
• Full training will be provided and will be working mainly outside in all weathers.

What we're looking for

Essential

• Class 2 Driving Licence
• An up-to-date CPC / DIGI card.
• Ability to work well as part of a team with clear communication skills.

Desirable

• Local geographical knowledge is highly desirable, including experience of driving in the area.
• Experience in transport of waste.
