Job summary

Veolia in the United Kingdom is seeking an HGV Class 2 driver to join our waste collection team in the Telford area. You will work a 48-hour week with early 4am starts, on a rota that includes Saturdays and bank holidays. Salary is competitive with weekly pay and meal allowances as part of Veolia benefits.

Essential qualifications include a valid HGV Class 2 licence, CPC, and a Digi/Tachograph card. Prior experience in waste is desirable, along with good local knowledge of the region.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 licence required.
• CPC valid and Digi Tachograph card mandatory.
• Digi Tachograph Card (digital tachograph) required.

Responsibilities

• Drive to planned collection locations and empty multiple waste containers.
• Record all data in the onboard system and keep paperwork up to date.
• Perform daily vehicle checks per operator handbook.
• Comply with traffic laws and weight restrictions for loads.

Job description

Salary: £41,429.28 per annum plus Veolia benefits - Paid weekly
£5.00 daily meal allowance, and Single person allowance - Earn an extra £41.16 daily when you complete over 110 bins

Hours: 48 Hours per week, Monday to Friday 4am starts
Required to work Saturdays and Bank Holidays on a rota basis

What you'll be doing;

• Driving to planned collection locations and moving / emptying multiple commercial waste containers
• Ensuring all information is input into the onboard system and all paperwork is kept up to date and submitted daily
• Completing daily checks of the vehicle as per our driver operator handbook
• Complying with all traffic laws and legislation including and weight of loads

What we're looking for;

Essential:

• HGV Class 2 (Cat C) licence
• Up to date CPC
• Digi / Tachograph Card

Desired:

• Prior Experience in the Waste Industry
• Good Local geographical knowledge
