Aligra Andover is recruiting on behalf of a leading waste management client in Romsey for an experienced HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver. You will operate a refuse lorry, ensuring safety and efficiency while delivering excellent customer service to the public and coordinating with loaders as needed.

The role offers a competitive hourly rate and a structured Monday–Friday pattern, with some part-time options available.

• Valid UK CPC and UK Digi Tacho cards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a HGV Class 2 refuse lorry, ensuring all driving is conducted safely and efficiently in accordance with UK road laws and regulations.
• Navigate various terrains, including rural and built-up areas, with care and precision.
• Maintain a clean and organised vehicle, conducting daily checks to ensure roadworthiness.
• Collaborate with and support loaders during certain rounds to ensure efficient and timely waste collection.
• Assist in loading and unloading bins, ensuring all health and safety protocols are followed.
• Plan and execute collection routes to optimise efficiency and reduce fuel consumption.
• Adapt to changing circumstances and re-route as necessary to meet collection deadlines.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing any queries or issues from the public in a professional manner.
• Represent the company with a positive attitude, building rapport and maintaining high standards of service.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, reporting any incidents, accidents, or near-misses immediately.
• Ensure the safe handling and transportation of waste materials, prioritising safety for yourself, team members, and the public.
• Perform any other duties as required by the supervisor to support the team and company operations.
  Engage in company training programmes and meetings to stay updated on policies and procedures.
