Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking dedicated Environmental LGV Drivers to join our team in Walsall Borough. This role involves professional operation of HGV vehicles to deliver environmental and waste collection services, helping maintain clean communities and support frontline services.

Work is ad-hoc, up to four days per week, depending on service needs. Applicants should have a valid Class 2 licence, CPC, tachograph card, and relevant HGV experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
• CPC Qualification.
• Digital Tachograph Card.
• Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Previous HGV/LGV driving experience and knowledge of driver regulations.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate LGV/HGV vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Conduct domestic refuse, recycling, food waste, and garden waste collections.
• Perform commercial waste and recycling collections.
• Support bulky waste collection services.
• Operate mechanical sweepers as required.
• Assist with fly-tip removal and environmental cleansing activities.
• Carry out bin deliveries and related environmental duties.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance inspections.
• Adhere to all Driver Handbook, MORR Code, Highway Code, and Health & Safety procedures.
• Ensure safe manoeuvring and reversing of vehicles in line with training and procedures.

Contract: 3 Month Contract

Hours: Up to 37 Hours Per Week

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, Ad-Hoc Shifts (Booked as Required)

Overtime: Paid at 1.5x Rate

Bank Holidays: Paid at 1.5x Rate

This role involves the professional operation of HGV vehicles to deliver a variety of environmental and waste collection services. As an integral part of our team, you will help maintain clean communities and support vital frontline services. Work is offered on an ad-hoc basis, with availability up to four days per week, depending on service needs.

Requirements

• Experience working within Local Authority services.
